PSA-type Nitrogen Generators
Low cost, high quality
For large-volume and high-purity applications, the PSA method is recognized as the optimal choice for nitrogen generation. Kaken Geneqs developed the PSA-type Nitrogen Generator to complement membrane Nitrogen Generators, which generally show insufficient cost performance in such applications.
Focusing on the essentials, with thorough trimming down and downsizing, lead to best-in-class economy. The use of high adsorption rate MSC and the application of a load proportional control strategy to the intake air has resulted in a reduction of air intake volume as well as lowering running costs.
Operating Principle of PSA-type (pressure swing adsorption)
The molecular sieving carbon packed in an adsorption tower, under a pressurized environment, tends to selectively adsorb molecules with smaller diameter, and release larger diameter molecules (i.e. nitrogen) instead. The PSA method utilizes this property to concentrate nitrogen.
PSA-type Nitrogen Generator Features
- A compact system design for ultimate cost-cutting
- All you have to do is to turn the switch on to produce high-quality nitrogen (99–99.99% purity)
- High-efficiency MSC means a high level of energy saving
- A load proportional control strategy, which adjusts intake air volume as a function of the gas flow, decreases start/stop frequency leading to power savings
- User-friendly touch panel screen layout with easily identifiable information (oxygen concentration, intake air pressure, adsorption tower pressure, gas flow rate, etc.) for simple operation
- Maintenance-focused system design: compressor operating time is kept as short as possible
- Optional display languages provided as standard: Japanese, English, and Chinese
- Compared to membrane Nitrogen Generators, PSA equipment is more suited for applications with nitrogen flow demand greater than 10 Nm3/h
Effects of PSA-type Nitrogen Generator
- Reduction in the frequency of mold maintenance
- Reduction in the number of mold cleanings
- Reduction of burn marks on plastic molded products
- Reduction of soot on plastic molded products
- High dew point (removal of moisture and maintenance of dry state)
- Oxidation prevention
