Membrane-type Generators
Optimal choice for oxygen-free seal gas, explosion-proof purge gas, and analytical carrier gas
This equipment produces high-purity nitrogen (max. 99.5%) from ambient air easily and economically. It is the optimal alternative to using nitrogen cylinders. Compressed air flows through a bundle of polymer hollow fibers, and the gas species with higher transmission rates (oxygen, hydrogen, water and CO2) selectively permeate through the semipermeable fiber wall, resulting in a concentration of slow-permeating nitrogen.
Membrane-type Generators (Non-integrated Compressor)
[ Features ]
- All-automatic operation for easy use
- On-site economic production of nitrogen without using nitrogen cylinders
- Compact design and small footprint
- As compared to PSA nitrogen generators, this equipment is more suited for applications with nitrogen flow demand of less than 10 Nm3/h
[ Specifications and Applications ]
- Filling gas for hollow injection molding
- Alternative convenient tool to gas cylinders (no cylinder replacement)
- Carrier gas for analytic/scientific instruments
- Purge gas for laboratory and research uses
- Gas supply for drying slide glasses
- Humidity control and oxidation prevention for stored reagents and slide glasses (storage cabinet separately available)
- Non-oxidizing seal gas and filling gas for pharmaceutical/food packages
- Solvent carrier gas
- Nitrogen source for explosion-proof seal gas and explosion-proof/oxygen deficiency areas

Yearly running cost (0.75 kW) of KPN-10M (12NL/min), assuming usage of 8 hr/day, 20 days/month
[ Nitrogen cylinder ]
12NL/min × 60 min × 8 h ×20 days × 12 months = 1,382,000 NL (equivalent to 200 cylinders)
Assuming the cost of using nitrogen cylinders to be ¥0.35/NL, the total cost becomes ¥480,000 (1,382,000 NL × ¥0.35)
[ Nitrogen generator ]
Assuming the cost of electricity to be ¥22/kWh, yearly expense becomes ¥30,000
(1.5 kW × ¥22 × 8 h × 0.5 × 20 days × 12 months)
Yearly maintenance cost: ¥100,000
Total ¥130,000 (¥30,000 + ¥100,000)
Yearly net savings: ¥0.35 million (¥0.48 million - ¥0.13 million)
Decrease of 73% in cost
